1786 New Jersey Copper. Maris 17-K, W-4865. Rarity-3. Narrow Shield, Straight Plow Beam. VF-30 (PCGS). Glossy autumn-brown surfaces with glints of olive-copper scattered about. The strike is well centered on both sides, all major design elements bold and some sharper detail remaining to the horse and shield. A dull mark to the left of the date and a few others in the upper reverse field are mentioned for accuracy, but overall this piece is pleasingly smooth in hand for the assigned grade. Siboni DS2, far scarcer than DS1, with a bold cud break at the reverse border outside the letter I in PLURIBUS.
