1787 New Jersey Copper. Maris 55-m, W-5305. Rarity-4. Second U/S in Pluribus. VF-20 (PCGS). Deep charcoal-copper patina with subtle olive highlights blankets both sides of this overall boldly defined mid grade example. The obverse is aligned to 4 oclock with the border through the bottom of the date, although all four digits are discernible. Reverse aligned to 6 oclock, upper border flush with the letters IBUS in PLURIBUS. The U/S feature is fully appreciable, surfaces free of mentionable marks, yet microporous throughout. Popular variety!
