Choice Very Fine.A second denomination from this 1912 series and a bold example. Printed at the BEP. Long coupon bond. 22.0cm by 37.0cm. The 40 coupons under are perpendicular, like others in the series. Style similar to other 1911-1931 bond, but the date is different. Cleveland in center of text, gold Treasury seal. Gold seal on coupons. Blue back with one panel face for folding. Stamped SPECIMEN on the principal portion. A gorgeous bond. Bright, with normal folds for a Specimen (bottom row of coupons folded back instead of description in Vacca catalog). Very vibrant. A top notch and unusual example. This also brought $420 in 1981. This has four-figure appeal and philatelic historians should also appreciate its significance. From the John E. Herzog Collection; Previously Dr. Joseph Vacca Collection (NASCA, April 27, 1981, lot 1203).
