拍品描述： [United States].  State of Missouri-Union Military Bond $1 Aug. 1, 1865 Criswell UG21. Very Fine.These Union Military Bonds are much rarer than the ones from Kansas. There are several enactments, denominations, and varieties. As Missouri notes, they were avidly collected by Eric P. Newman, who obtained nearly all the known types for his collection. This is a late date and rather rare. A splendid engraved note by the American Bank Note Co. America as a Native American princess, seated among the clouds with her arm around an eagle with wings outstretched at the right. The eagle, draped with a flag, holds an olive branch while standing atop a globe with AMERICA. At the upper left is General Moseleys portrait. State seal bottom. Green back, as for the previous series, but with a different enactment date. The title is at top, enactment at bottom, and large white "1" at the sides. Heavy perpendicular endorsement is at the center of the back. No. 2997. Not as rare as its Criswell-Shull listing, but this is choice and superior to the Newman note. This came from the eclectic Schingoethe 6 which was not ordered strictly by alphabet, but by historical context and special interests. A very full bodied note, crisp and vibrant. Trimmed in a bit and wavy at bottom left. This is a Vacca sale note that realized $446.25 in 1981 and over $3,000 at Schingoethe 6. One of the finest of few known of this UG21 type we believe.From the John E. Herzog Collection; Schingoethe Part 6 (R.M.
