1787 Connecticut Copper. Miller 4-L, W-2810. Rarity-1. Mailed Bust Left, Horned Bust. VF-25 (PCGS).;140.1 grains. Deep gray-brown patina with the design nicely centered and overall bold on both sides. Microscopic roughness to the texture is easily overlooked, more significant are a couple of wispy obverse pin scratches over and before the effigys bust. Intermediate die state with the diagnostic obverse die break a small crescent-shaped lune in the field that has not yet joined the bust.;From the Dr. Gordon Shaw Collection.
