1793 Flowing Hair Cent. Chain Reverse. S-3. Rarity-3-. AMERICA, Without Periods. Good-6 (PCGS). OGH.,This is an uncommonly well defined coin in a heavily circulated Chain cent, the obverse particularly noteworthy in this regard. Libertys portrait is near-fully outlined, and the word LIBERTY and all four digits in the date are bold. The reverse is sharp in the center with all letters in the legend bold despite the fact that the impression is slightly off center to 6 oclock. Predominantly deep copper in appearance, the obverse with glints of bright orange intermingled here and there. Surface texture is rough overall, a few scattered digs are noted, as is a touch of glossiness to the obverse that suggests an ancient cleaning. All in all, however, this is respectable example of the one-year Chain cent design type at the lowermost reaches of the numismatic grading scale that is sure to find many willing buyers in todays market.,From the Marc Kravit Collection.,
