1795 Liberty Cap Half Cent. C-2a. Rarity-3. Lettered Edge, Punctuated Date. Fine-12 (PCGS).,This handsome piece exhibits a blend of medium brown and golden-tan patina on both sides. The strike is well centered on the reverse, drawn slightly toward 3 oclock on the obverse, with all devices on both sides clear to bold. A few faint carbon spots and wispy handling marks to Libertys portrait are noted for accuracy, as are a couple of light flan flaws and some original planchet texture in the center of the reverse. The in hand appearance is quite smooth, however, especially for an early date half cent that saw this extensive circulation. All in all, a pleasing Fine example to represent the type, date or variety. Manley Die State 2.0, described as "very rare.",From the Lux Family Collection, begun as early as the 1850s.,
