Circa 1860 Mobile Jockey Club muling. Musante GW-235, Baker-337A. White Metal. MS-63 (PCGS).27.9 mm. Brilliant surfaces with sharp frosty devices and strong reflectivity in the fields. Lightly hairlined, but only mildly distracting on the reverse if magnification is used. A very rarely seen type, but sensibly so since very few were struck. It has been reported that just four were made in copper and four in brass, though we have no figures for white metal. Other related issues have been reported to have originally numbered variously 16 or 20 impressions in white metal, so the same is likely true for this issue.Ex William Spohn Baker Collection, to the Historical Society of Pennsylvania by bequest, November 15, 1897.
