Circa 1860 Woodgate & Co. store card. Musante GW-234, Baker-593B, Miller NY-973. Brass. MS-65 (PCGS).27.8 mm. Beautiful light golden brass with deeper golden brown accents close to the rims and a couple of small areas of blue iridescence on the reverse. Quite flashy, with boldly prooflike fields and lustrous satiny devices. No serious marks, but a tiny spot of oxidation is noted at the central reverse. Handsome and rare. According to the September 1860 Bangs, Merwin & Co. sale, just three of these tokens were struck in each composition. If this is true, then the one plated in Musante combined with the two in the Baker Collection account for the entire mintage in brass.Ex William Spohn Baker Collection, to the Historical Society of Pennsylvania by bequest, November 15, 1897.
