Circa 1860 Woodgate & Co. store card. Musante GW-234, Baker-593B, Miller NY-973. Brass. MS-64 (PCGS).27.8 mm. A second example of this rare token in brass. As bold and reflective as the first one offered, but with a bit more oxidation on the high points of Washington’s hair. Soft golden brown toning around the rims. As noted above, just three of these tokens were reported struck in each composition, but we suspect this might be erroneous, more likely applying only to those in silver.Ex William Spohn Baker Collection, to the Historical Society of Pennsylvania by bequest, November 15, 1897.
