Minor handling marks are inconsequential, as is a shallow planchet void at the lower right corner of the reverse arms. Examples of this type, along with Spanish-American coins, Dutch Lion dollars and other pieces, played an important role in international commerce during the American colonial era. They were eagerly sought in the coinage-starved colonies and continued to circulate well into the 19th century after independence was achieved.,,
