The Star is composed of an 8 pointed multi-rayed silver star plaque surmounted by an ornate central medallion embellished with silver dragons, Chinese inscription right, Manchu inscription left with light blue enamel in the fields and a turquoise colored stone in the center, though the stone at the top is missing. Close inspection reveals that much of the enamel is discolored or missing and the central stone and central medallion have both been re-attached and glued in place. The silver star does exhibit rich patina in the protected areas adding a bit of charm to this piece. Despite its shortcomings a presentable example of the type that would make a nice addition for the beginner to intermediate collector.From the estate of Major General Andre W. Brewster.
