Eagle on branch overseeing town. TWO in white centered in the signature panel. Very fascinating Civil War dated obsolete and only the third we have seen from this bank which later became the Fitchburg National Bank, Charter #1077. All issued notes from this bank are listed as SENC in Haxby. The note displays strong green color and sharp detail of the engraved design elements. The paper is strong for the grade and free of any hole cancellations. This note was redeemed by the Fitchburg National Bank on Feb 11 1890, per the stamps on the back. A fascinating piece and one that will be cherished by its new collector.
