1794 Liberty Cap Cent. S-55. Rarity-2. Head of 1794. EF-40 (PCGS). A handsome marbling of golden-copper and steel-olive greets the viewer from both sides of this hard, tight and satiny example. Marks are surprisingly few for the grade, a short vertical graze at the back of Libertys cheek the only one worthy of singular mention. The strike is trivially off center to the upper right obverse, better centered on the reverse, and while some of the denticulation on both sides is a bit soft, all of it is discernible. The focal features are pleasingly sharp at the EF grade level. All in all, a desirable circulated example of both the type and die pairing.
