1794 Liberty Cap Cent. S-43. Rarity-2. Head of 1794. VF-25 BN (NGC). Deep charcoal-copper patina lightens to a chestnut-brown hue over the higher points of the design. Well defined with bold VF detail where allowed by the die state, there are no mentionable blemishes apart from a dull mark at the back of Libertys neck and a short reverse cut through the upper left of the wreath. Microscopic pitting is also noted for accuracy. The reverse is boldly cracked through the letter U in UNITED up to the letter C in CENT, the surface shifted into two planes at the left and right of the crack.
