1794 Liberty Cap Cent. S-24. Rarity-1. Head of 1794. EF-40 (PCGS). Lovely medium brown and olive-copper color to both sides. The surfaces are microgranular with a few light scratches and shallow edge bruises scattered about. In hand, however, this coin presents as quite smooth for a lightly circulated early date large cent. The obverse of this variety always appears rough due to die rust on Libertys lower neck and in the date area. A bit lightly struck in the centers, yet quite sharp elsewhere, this is an eminently collectible example of the Scarred Head variety of the 1794 Liberty Cap cent issue. From our (Stacks) sale of May 5-6, 1998, lot 147. Lot tag included.
