CHINA. Silver Dollar Pattern, Year 17 (1928). PCGS SPECIMEN-64 Gold Shield.

This highly coveted pattern-only issue boasts a needle sharp strike with fine, exquisite details concurrent with its specimen striking. The richly toned surfaces exhibit lovely cabinet patina displaying a multitude of hues and much originality. This extremely pleasing and eye-catching survivor emanates from a type that seldom appears on the market and is destined for a world-class collection of a connoisseur.Chang Tso-lin (sometimes known as the Mukden Tiger) rose to incredible heights from humble beginnings. Eventually becoming the governor of Fengtien and Generalissimo of the Republics land and naval forces, he was murdered by Japanese militarists in a railcar explosion on 4 June 1928.
