1787 New Jersey Copper. Maris 56-n, W-5310. Rarity-1. Camel Head. Very Fine, Porous, Lightly Cleaned. 176.8 grains. Struck on an uncommonly thick flan, and also overstruck, the latter typical for Maris 56-n Camel Heads. Faint remnants of the undertype are discernible at the lower right reverse border, not quite enough to make a positive identification. All major elements of the New Jersey design are fully appreciable, and most are boldly defined. Uniform microporosity and curiously light golden-brown patina explain our qualifiers, but there are no sizeable marks apart from a short reverse nick over the upper left of the shield and a couple of tiny edge dings on the same side.
