Undated Contemporary Counterfeit English Halfpenny. George III Type. Double Struck. Choice About Uncirculated. 127.2 grains. A glossy and lustrous, light brown example of a double strike, the second strike about 70% off-center and very bold, obliterating all signs of the primary strike beneath it. The consignor has dated this coin to 1774, whether by style or die match we are unsure. All we can say is that choiceness of the surfaces and boldness of the misstrike make this an ideal example of the error type.
