Boldly to sharply struck with outstanding visual appeal. Dunleith, Illinois is a popular single merchant town in this series. The issuer of this token, J.M. Daggett, is listed as a hotel operator in the 1862 to 1866 tax records for the town. This die combination is unlisted in copper-nickel in the third edition of the Fuld reference on Civil War store cards.
