拍品描述： Illinois. 27th Regiment Illinois Volunteers. Sutler Unknown. 10 Cents. Schenkman IL-27-10B (IL-C10B). Rarity-8. Brass. Plain Edge. 19 mm. AU-55 (NGC). Rich antique brass patina with intermingled olive-gray and medium rose highlights. The surfaces are satiny and overall smooth with all design elements sharply rendered. Several light carbon spots on the reverse are not readily evident at all viewing angles. A rare variety at a superior level of preservation; for comparison, the example in our offering of the extraordinary collection of sutler tokens assembled by Raymond J. Bunt graded "only" EF-45. Mr. Fords was a real standout in NGC MS-63 (Ford XXIII, August 2013, lot 21368).
