Great Britain--Middlesex. Undated (1790s) Am I Not a Man and a Brother Farthing Token. D&H-1089. Copper. Plain Edge. MS-64 BN (PCGS). A predominantly olive-copper example that retains appreciable rose-apricot color on both sides. Struck off center to 11 oclock on the kneeling slave side, 5 oclock on the Adam and Even side, although only the border denticulation is affected. Tokens of this type, part of the British Conder series, are often collected in America due to the association of the kneeling slave design with that of the famous and popular HT-81 Hard Times token.
