Part 8 of the Schingoethe Collection featured $2 and $5 proofs of the same types seen here. The $2 (lot 2323) realized $6,900 while the $5 (lot 2324) sold for $4,887.50. The pair features orange printed border and security inks as well as counters. The titles, vignettes and auditors seals are in black. The $5 displays a full height oversized vignette of Liberty with capped staff at left while a plow boy with horses is to the right. The $2 features riverboats on the water at center while a woman walks with a girl at bottom left. Both notes feature a blue machine printed serial number 1721. This vibrantly printed pair comes on lightly handled crisp paper.
