CC-76. Continental Currency. April 11, 1778. $20. PCGS Currency Extremely Fine 45.No. 32499. Signed by Edward Fox. Red signature and serial number are somewhat blurred. Vignette of a strong wind creating waves. Latin motto VI CONCITATE, which Newman translates as Driven by force. Very well margined with obviously crisp paper. The last quality example we sold was an iffy-looking PMG EF 40 that realized for $900. Prior to that, we sold a couple of lower end AU notes for just under $4,000 each. A note that is not easy to encounter at better grade levels.
