In tiny letters at the lower left and right border, PAT JUNE / 16-68. The reverse has mellowed to deep tan and olive brass with some traces of lighter golden patina in the protected recesses. A scattering of small oxidation spots in the upper half. The mirror shows age but no damage, giving a nice clear reflection. Noted by Bowers in his notes as the only example seen, and plated in his reference.<p>William F. Hyatt was in the hardware business at 54 Beekman Street in 1865. By 1874 he was in partnership with Oscar A. Spencer in Hyatt & Spencer at the same address. Soon afterward, Hyatt succeeded to the interests of T.N.
