(C. 1881) Pynchon House medal by J.A. Bolen. Copper. 25mm. Musante JAB-39. MS-63RB (NGC).,A second example of this interesting historical type. Generous faded red remains over both sides, accented by mottled blue and violet. Strong prooflike character in the fields and rather nice eye appeal. A very thin scratch in the house roof is easily overlooked, but the few obverse spots are a bit more obvious. Still, the eye appeal is quite nice. One of 95 reported struck in copper. From the Tim Gabriele Collection. Earlier ex Henry South.
