T-17. Confederate Currency. 1861 $20. PMG Choice Uncirculated 64 EPQ.No. 24295, Plate A. PF-2. A vibrantly colored and beautifully printed Hoyer & Ludwig 1861 Twenty. Liberty with pole and cap is seen at left. Three allegorical females representing Agriculture, Commerce and Navigation are seen at center. This example features the long green underprint which extends over and past Libertys head. Brilliant green color is retained in the underprint. The paper is bright and fully original. T-17s are typically found poorly cut however this note displays full frame lines throughout. The For Register and For Treasurer signatures are neatly penned and free of any ink erosion. PMG has graded two notes at the 64 EPQ level while PCGS has graded just a single note at the 63 PPQ level with none finer. A fantastic example of this lovely type and a note destined for a long term elite level collection. From The Cleo Collection of Confederate Paper Money.
