Just 73,355 examples of this Hoyer & Ludwig produced $5 were issued and today this type is rare in grades above Very Good. Most display some form of repair. The present example comes fully framed and darkly printed on paper that experienced just a moderate amount of circulation. This note is free of any repairs. Just a few pinholes and small edge tears can be seen as noted on the back of the holder. This rare plate B variety displays an extra "f" before the "for Treasr" near the bottom right corner. Acquired by our consignor from the collection of Dr. Douglas Ball as lot #445 of the September 1987 NASCA auction.
