1807 Draped Bust Half Dollar. O-102, T-8. Rarity-2. VF-30 (NGC).,This is a remarkably lustrous example with a pearlescent silver complexion and deep honey-gold patina in the protected areas. The surfaces are pleasantly composed under a glass and without notable blemishes. Libertys portrait is weakly impressed, as is typical, though the eagle on the reverse is intricate. This is a late state of the dies, with both sides showing extensive clashing equivalent to Tompkins Die Stage 5/3. An attractive and intriguing piece.,From the Sutton Court Collection of Early Half Dollar Varieties. Acquired privately from Don Frederick, December 1985.,
