1806 Draped Bust Half Dollar. O-113, T-13. Rarity-5+. Pointed 6, Stem Through Claw. VF-20 (NGC).,Bands of rainbow iridescence encircle the borders of this gorgeous Pointed 6 rarity. The protected regions glow with frosty mint luster, suggesting superior preservation for the assigned grade. Inspection fails to reveal any noteworthy blemishes, and the surfaces are smooth to the naked eye. The weakness at the upper right reverse is present on all examples, and the remaining devices are uniformly bold and intricate. A single EF-45 (PCGS) example ranks as finest in the Condition Census, followed by a handful of EF-40 and Choice VF pieces. The present piece sit just outside of these finest few, but likely still within the top 8-10 known. A beautiful and truly premium example.,From the Sutton Court Collection of Early Half Dollar Varieties. Acquire privately from Alpine Numismatics, December 1984.,
