1806 Draped Bust Half Dollar. O-107a, T-3. Rarity-4+. Knobbed 6, Small Stars. VF-25 (NGC).,A lovely lavender-grey example with golden overtones throughout. The strike is sharp for the variety, with just a trivial notion of weakness to the rightmost stars and clouds on the reverse. Magnified inspection fails to reveal any blemishes of note, and the complexion is smooth and untroubled to the naked eye. Both the obverse and reverse dies are heavily fatigued on this example, showing crumbling at the rim above LI in LIBERTY, and below the eagles left claw and the end of the stem. A very attractive piece that is suitable for both specialists and type collectors.,From the Sutton Court Collection of Early Half Dollar Varieties. Acquired privately from Jack Beymer, February 1985.,
