A scarce iteration of this otherwise available type and denomination. Most $10 Silver Certificates issued under the Series of 1880 that are available to collectors in the present can be had with relative ease save for a few varieties. Certain varieties such as those that feature the engraved countersignatures of various Treasury officials typically come to mind while certain signature combinations or seal varieties are often overshadowed by their rarer counterparts. This note is a representative of an overshadowed seal variety encountered on a note that features the Bruce - Wyman signation combination. Featuring a smooth rounded red Treasury seal, this note dispenses with the overprinted "X" that had been introduced with the Series of 1880 and offers a less cluttered composition by comparison. This is one of only 50 pieces recorded by Track & Price and stands among a small handful of pieces to be offered in recent years that represent this Friedberg Number. From the Hararn Family Collection.
