Representative of one of the most iconic back designs from the 1880s. The back design endemic to this series stands reminiscent of the National Gold Bank Notes issued in California in the early 1870s on account of the quintet of Morgan-type silver dollars that compose the back design. Compared to many of this notes peers, this comes in an uncommon state of preservation reflective of a small trove of comparable examples that has long provided collectors with a small number of high grade examples of this popular design. The present example offers both strong eye appeal and originality and a good degree of originality for the grade assigned by PMG. A bold Treasury overprint offers testament to great color while the mass of ornate design elements on the verso serve to uphold this note as a visual treat that deserves to be represented among an expansive collection of large size Silver Certificates or period type notes. From the Hararn Family Collection.
