Hardbound in the original white half cloth, with boards lettered in gilt. Nine original glossy fine photographic plates. Hand priced in blue ink throughout. Numerous annotations in the margins of the plates in pencil, these attributed to Charles Ricard who was gifted this volume by George Bauer (ANA Life Member #4, and past President of the organization). Ricard’s penciled note to this effect is seen on the inside front cover. Clearly a “research copy” with minor internal stains, minor chipping of the cover edges and roughness at the corners, but intact and with good integrity in the binding.
