Lower left shows a farm girl with hoe and basket. Impressive Native American holding tomahawk at upper right. This was the first commercial bank in Memphis, gaining its charter in 1833. The bank suspended activity in 1847 and subsequently an attempt was made for its reemergence in 1854. That effort failed and the bank was sold in 1856. Although there are a few known, this piece is of the highest quality.
