1926 Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle. Tripled Die Obverse. FS-101. MS-65 (PCGS). The focal points for the tripling are the designers monogram and the rays and stars near the date. The 1926-S is known with identical die tripling, which suggests that a working hub, instead of a working die, was responsible for the variety. Soft pastel-green color overall. The lustrous and well-struck surfaces show only minor signs of contact.
