1914 Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle. MS-64 (PCGS). Rich honey-gold color with clean fields other than for a few light scuffs on the reverse. A scarce date in finer grades, this MS64 is a leading condition scarcity within the P-mint Saint-Gaudens double eagle group. The 1914 is difficult to locate in the upper Mint State grades, more difficult than the 1910, 1912, and 1915, and never found in profusion. The luster is well above average for the type, and in keeping with our quest for accuracy, we do come across some light contact marks here and there on the reverse. Razor sharp striking definition makes all design elements stand out smartly.
