About Uncirculated. Obv: A beaver, sitting up on its hind legs, above the inscription LAKE GEORGE REGATTA ASSOCIATION and conjoined busts of a Jesuit missionary and a Native American. Beneath the busts is an area inscribed AWARDED TO with DEAN Y. DeLANO engraved amid flourishes. Brenners signature V.D. BRENNER is at the right edge.Rev: Engraved 2nd PRIZE / GENTLEMENS SINGLES / 1908. Stamped at the bottom in tiny letters is R. STOLL, N.Y. / STERLING. The main part of the medal is suspended by silver chains from a sterling crossed paddle pin-back hanger, with provisions for attaching a silk ribbon. This very appealing piece is toned in antique charcoal patina with electric blue iridescence visible in the more protected areas. One of the more obscure of Brenners works, and a find for the specialized collector. From the Richard Jewell Collection.
