PMG Very Fine 30.This is a new addition to a previous census total of 26 known small-size on this important southern New Hampshire town, from a bank bearing the name of a nearby mountain. The is a very respectable mid-grade note, with even circulation and problem free paper for the grade.pOn April 8, 1865, the stockholders of the Monadnock Bank of Jaffrey transferred the institutions assets and liabilities to a new corporation, the Monadnock National Bank of East Jaffrey, although the location of the bank did not move. The bank premises were modest and remained in cashier Peter Uptons house, a rather unusual arrangement among New Hampshire banks. The authorized capital of the new bank was $200,000, of which $100,000 was used.
