PCGS Currency Gem New 66 PPQ.A bold blue serial number 1 is prominently displayed below the portrait of William McKinley in the lower left corner of this $10 Red Seal from the First National Bank of Gary, Indiana. The bank was organized in October of 1906 and issued both large and small size notes totaling more than $1.7 million before going into receivership in January of 1932. This note comes in a very high state of preservation with plentiful margins and crisp, wonderfully fresh paper. Neatly penned bank officers signatures are found along the bottom border of the face. This Series of 1902 $10 features engraved signatures of Treasury officials Vernon and Treat near top center. The allegorical vignette on the back at center represents the Panama Canal.
