Noted as the only one seen and plated in the Bowers reference.<p>The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company was founded as the Great American Tea Company in New York City in 1859, by George Huntington Hartford and George Gilman. Early operations were conducted from a storefront on Vesey Street in New York City. In 1871 the firms address was 8 Church Street, New York City. Later it became the large A&P grocery chain.
