1799 (ca. 1849) C.C. Wright Birth Centennial Medal. Second Reverse. Bronze. 45 mm. Musante GW-128, Baker-75A. MS-62 BN (PCGS).,A boldly defined piece with dominant reddish-copper patina to both sides. Light carbon and some faint verdigris is mostly confined to the peripheries, these features explaining the MS-62 numeric grade from PCGS. There are no significant handling marks to report. The obverse portrait of this type is Charles Cushing Wrights copy of that used on Durands Series Numismatica medal (Musante GW-100), an example of which is offered above. The second reverse exhibits a redesigned wreath with more space at the top and no periods after each line of text within. According to Musante (2016), the partial removal of the inscription WRIGHT & BALE from the lower right obverse border suggests that this revised type was issued much later than the first reverse example of c.1832. Baker gives a date of issue of c.1834, while Musante suggests c.1849.,Stacks company tag with attribution notation included.,
