1860 Abraham Lincoln. DeWitt-AL 1860-32. Silvered white metal. 34 mm. MS-64 PL (NGC).,Beautiful old cabinet toning on both sides, with rich blue, rose, gold and violet intermingled across the silvered surfaces. The reverse is nearly brilliant at the center. Prooflike and nicely preserved, with just a few scattered marks. An impressive medal believed to have been struck in celebration of Lincolns first inauguration. According to Sullivan, the portrait was likely after a Mathew Brady photograph taken February 23, 1861.,From the Brian Dobbins Collection of American Political Tokens.
