1860 Abraham Lincoln. DeWitt-AL 1860-10. Silvered white metal. 38.1 mm. Choice Very Fine.,Attractive deep cabinet toning with highlights of soft blue and gold. Lightly hairlined under the toning and a bit handled but still quite pleasing overall. John Fords example was rather similar, but it was pierced (as is the Sullivan plate piece) while this one is not. Sullivan posits that this was struck early in the campaign, perhaps shortly after the Republican Convention, which was held in Chicago.,From the Brian Dobbins Collection of American Political Tokens. Earlier ex George Rinslands Auction #90, October 1980, lot 545.,
