1652 Pine Tree Shilling. Small Planchet. Noe-15, Salmon 1-A, W-830. Rarity-5. VF-25 (PCGS).;67.9 grains. Struck on an irregular planchet, yet overall boldly defined nonetheless. The tree is sharp, as are the date and denomination on the reverse. Peripheral lettering is incomplete, that along the lower and left obverse borders partially off the flan. On the reverse the letters DO are off the flan, the border through the tops of NEW. The planchet is egg shaped with the vertical axis the longest, ragged base centered on 5:30 relative to the obverse. Originally and attractively toned, both sides are also remarkably smooth for a Pine Tree shilling that saw this extensive circulation.;
