1886 Gold Dollar. Proof-62 Cameo (PCGS).;Fully struck with razor sharp, satin-textured devices, this nicely cameoed specimen also sports reflective fields. The entire package is dressed in handsome orange-gold patina that speaks volumes about this coins originality. The 1886 is part of a run of gold dollars from 1884 through the series end in 1889 with a Proof mintage of more than 1,000 pieces. In the specific case of this issue 1,016 specimens were struck, and enough have survived to make the 1886 one of the more frequently Proofs of this denomination in todays market. Although this issue is an excellent Proof gold type candidate, we caution bidders that it is still scarce in an absolute sense. This, indeed, is a fleeting bidding opportunity for the advanced gold enthusiast.;
