1881 Liberty Seated Dime. Fortin-101a. Rarity-4. MS-67 (PCGS). The 1881 is one of the scarcest dimes from the era with an original mintage of only 24,000 business strikes. This is the second finest example certified by PCGS with only two in higher grades, and just one finer at NGC. The surfaces on this piece are richly toned on each side in deep rust, gray, green and cobalt-blue shadings with strong underlying satiny luster. Close examination with a magnifier reveals a bold strike and no mentionable marks or other abrasions.
