1916-S Barber Dime. MS-67 (PCGS). An awe-inspiring Superb Gem that ranks as one of the finest certified examples of the issue known to PCGS. Otherwise brilliant with radiant satin luster throughout, this coin is partially toned on each side in somewhat irregular gunmetal-gray and antique-golden patina. Fully struck and so carefully preserved as to be virtually pristine, we cannot say enough in recommending this coin to advanced Barber dime collectors. Last of the San Francisco Mint entries in this series, the 1916-S is also among the most plentiful in todays market. In the finest Mint State grades, however, the 1916-S emerges as an important condition rarity with even MS-65s and MS-66s scarce. The present example will almost certainly find its way into the top-ranked Barber dime collection on the Set Registry.
