1901 Barber Dime. MS-66+ (PCGS). CAC. A fully original, boldly toned Gem with uncommonly smooth surfaces for a survivor of this underrated issue. Colorful "oil slick" iridescence blankets each side in various colorations as the coin is rotated under a light. Despite a generous mintage of 18,859,665 circulation strikes, the 1901 is one of the scarcer Philadelphia Mint Barber dimes. Mint State examples are more challenging to locate than those of the 1892, 1897, 1898, 1910, 1911 and 1916, among other issues in this series.
