1870-S Liberty Seated Dime. Fortin-101, the only known dies. Rarity-5-. Misplaced Date. EF-45 (PCGS). A generally golden-gray example with blushes of steel-russet scattered along the lower obverse border. One in a long line up of scarce and conditionally challenging S-Mint dimes from the Civil War and Reconstruction eras, the 1870-S was produced to the extent of just 50,000 pieces and suffered a high rate of attrition through commercial use.
